Overview
The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for the design & development of food-grade equipment and systems from customer product specifications to our sales department.
Responsibilities
- Consult with engineering, sales, and other personnel to design and develop new products and existing product modifications
- Utilize knowledge of various machines, engineering practices, sheet metal, plastics, mathematics, and other physical sciences to complete designs and drawings
- Use computer-assisted drafting (CAD) software as well as any other software needed in the completion of job responsibilities, such as SolidWorks and AutoCAD
- Work with manufacturing to identify and resolve issues quickly
- Assist customer service with field problems of a technical nature
- Manage engineering projects of moderate complexity
- Ability to work with customers to generate designs/plans for projects
- Generate new product ideas and product improvement processes
Requirements
- Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Design with 1-5 years of related design experience preferred
- Experience in AutoCAD & SolidWorks
- Ability to handle self-directed project design responsibility and work constructively with the engineering team
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Ensure all projects are completed before assigned deadlines
- Follow safety procedures, both on and off-site
- Travel to customer locations for field measurements of equipment and layout purposes
